People Talking

The series of sculptures by Vince Bomberry entitled "People Talking" is a recent addition to his carving subjects. Vince uses different mediums and various subject matters in his carvings in the past 25 years. He does not like to stay with one or the same medium style of carving for too long. Therefore, certain carvings done by him tend to be small in quantity. 

Vince spoke about these particular carvings as very powerful representation of both his native culture and his own artistic imagination:

"Four faces symbolize four directions (South, North, West & East), which is a sacred number for the First Nations. When four people group of the earth come together and speak, there is a tremendous power that comes out, which is depicted with the "copper hairs". When people of the earth are able to talk to each other, this represents a powerful moment to all."
