Mosaic Petrified Wood

Petrified wood is wood that has been fossilized by a process where its organic material is replaced by minerals, such as silica, over millions of years. This process preserves the original structure of the wood, including details like tree rings, bark texture, and cellular patterns, which are replicated by minerals that seep in through groundwater. The resulting rock takes on a variety of colors depending on the minerals present, such as reds and oranges from iron oxide or blues and greens from copper.
